Brompton G Line Recall

The G Line is a bike that has been designed to be ridden and enjoyed, it’s a Brompton with the feel of a full-size bike and one that has had years of development and testing put behind it.

Now that these have been out in the wild, they’ve also had the chance to be tested even further. With this, we wanted to flag that we have received one reported instance regarding the Hinge Spindle.

What do you need to know?

There has been one reported instance of the Hinge Spindle breaking on the G Line bike.  

Although this did not result in any injury or incident, we want to ensure we are constantly working to improve so have taken the decision to change the Hinge Spindle to one which has increased durability.

This means that we’re asking all current owners to get this part updated (at no charge) by selected stores as part of a product recall.

Is your bike affected?

If your G Line bike was produced before December 2024* then then it will likely need the fix. Please check if your bike has already been updated using the following Serial Number checker:

*If you bought your bike in December, it is likely your G Line already has the fix. This can be identified by a blue marker on the head of the Hinge Spindle. This blue marker is designed to be a quick visual identifier for Brompton mechanics but can wear off over time, so we recommend still using the serial number checker above.

How can you get your bike fixed?

As a G Line owner, you can have this fix completed at any Brompton Junction or Brompton G Line Accredited Retailer, by making an appointment directly at the store.

We recommend visiting the store you purchased from or to use the Find a Store link below and filter store type by either "Gold Retailer" or "Brompton Junction Store" in your local area.
